How does Meshy turn text into a 3D model?

Type a description; Meshy's AI generates full 3D geometry in about a minute, with several variants to pick from, and optional PBR texturing. Pose control (A/T/custom) prepares characters for rigging. Text to 3D or Image to 3D which should I use?

Use Text to 3D when you're exploring from imagination and iteration speed matters more than matching a specific reference original props, characters without existing concept art, decor. Use Image to 3D when a design already exists and fidelity to it is the goal. They combine well: generate concepts by text, then image-convert your favourite refined sketch for the final asset.

Why did my prompt generate something generic?

Almost always prompt length and specificity. "A chair" gives the AI no material, style or proportion to work with, so it defaults to the most statistically average chair. Add material ("walnut wood"), style ("mid-century modern") and any proportion cues, and results sharpen dramatically see the weak-vs-strong examples above.

Can I generate the same character in a specific pose?

For rigging purposes, generate in A-pose or T-pose (Meshy 6 supports pose control directly) standard poses rig far more reliably than dynamic ones. For a specific dramatic pose in the final render, generate the character standing neutrally, rig and animate it, then pose the rig don't fight the generator for a complex pose it wasn't built to nail directly.

Can I describe a copyrighted character and use the result commercially?

You can generate something resembling one, but you can't commercially own or sell it Meshy's ownership grant only holds when your inputs (including text descriptions of existing IP) don't infringe others' copyrights. How precise is the scale and proportion of generated models?

Approximate, not exact text-to-3D interprets your description into a plausible form rather than hitting specified dimensions. Always check and rescale in your engine, slicer or DCC tool before anything where size matters (printing at a target scale, fitting a game socket). For genuinely dimensional work, CAD tools remain the right choice.
